Exhibition “Parking 2022”

If in Soviet times it was a huge problem to buy a car, then today it has become an equally difficult problem where to put your four-wheeled friend. With countless vehicles far exceeding the capacity of parking spaces, there is a growing demand for innovative parking technologies. The sphere of parking services is on the verge of fundamental changes that will allow the formation of a civilized market and provide a modern organization of parking space in Russian cities.

The exhibition “Parking Russia 2022″ – International exhibition of equipment and technologies for the arrangement and operation of parking spaces. This is a review of equipment manufacturers, building materials, software developers, parking service providers. The exposition presents parking equipment and automation systems, mechanized and automated parking lots, services for searching, paying, managing and monetizing parking spaces, as well as charging stations for electric vehicles.

The event is attended by over 45 companies from Russia, Belarus and China, including leading manufacturers, suppliers and integrators of equipment for urban and commercial parking spaces. An important part of the exposition is the section of equipment and materials for the construction and operation of parking lots (industrial floors, waterproofing materials, etc.).

The exhibition is accompanied by a three-day business program. The industry conference “Parking industry in Russia 2022: changes in legislation, risks, issues and solutions” will be held. Business sessions will be held on the most important issues in the development of the parking industry. The exhibition is interesting both for narrow specialists and representatives of the city administration, developers, representatives of organizations and individuals – us, motorists.

The most important section of the exposition – “Mechanized and automated parking” – is dedicated to car storage systems that can reduce parking space, reduce operating costs, increase the number of parking spaces and meet parking regulations.

The importance of the exhibition and its business program was well described in his greetings to the participants by Mikhail Blinkin, a Russian expert in the field of organizing the transport environment and urban studies, tenured professor at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, scientific director of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Development: “In 1991, in the book of my American colleague Joel Garro, I found this phrase: “Parking has become a key factor in determining human life, at least since the 7th century BC. e. After 2,700 years, parking is still the backbone of urbanism and civilization.” At this time, in the city of Nineveh, King Sennacherib issued the first parking regulation in world history: “Everyone whose parked chariot makes it difficult to travel along the Royal Road is subject to the death penalty. The head of the executed person impaled on a stake should be displayed at the front of his house. At the same time, I note that the “royal road” in the city of Nineveh had a hard surface and a width of the carriageway of 26 meters; it served as one of the main city arteries and was intended not only for the passage of the Assyrian autocrat. Of course, Assyria was somewhat hasty with its steep parking regulations: in ancient Nineveh, just like in London or St. Petersburg at the beginning of the 20th century, there were very few individual crews, no more than a dozen per 1000 inhabitants. In Russia, they were not in a hurry at all. At the end of the 20th century in Moscow, unlike ancient Nineveh, there were no parking regulations, from the word “none”. And there was no particular need for this: in those years, in any Russian city there were no more than 60-80 cars per 1000 inhabitants. What are the problems with parking here? And what does the core of urbanism and civilization have to do with it? Not much time has passed. In Russian cities, there are 300-400 and even 500 cars per 1000 inhabitants today. In Vladivostok – 650, in Odintsovo near Moscow and at all about 900, just like in America. Where do all these cars live at a time when the owner is working, shopping, or even more so sleeping in his apartment? How to solve this problem, if there are 25 sq. meters of the total area, and for his car, sleeping in the underground parking, one and a half times more? The answer to these pivotal questions was given by a vast segment of the business, formed over 30 years from zero and designated by simple Russian words Parking Russia. As a professor-theorist, I predict with full confidence that the demand for equipment and technologies for arranging municipal and commercial parking spaces will continue to grow for many years to come, and completely regardless of temporary turbulences in the automotive market.”

This landmark event for the parking industry has been a center of attraction for representatives of authorities, leading manufacturers and suppliers for several years now. Constructive discussions unfold on the exhibition grounds, fresh ideas are born and new contacts are established. A rich business program, communication with leading industry experts, stands with working models of equipment will be of particular interest to those who are faced with a shortage of parking spaces.
