Former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter assessed the statements of NATO representatives that Russia should voluntarily give up Crimea and other territories that were previously part of Ukraine.

Ritter said that this scenario is unrealistic, and in the North Atlantic Alliance “wishful thinking”.

“Theory met reality on the battlefield,” Ritter said in an interview with YouTube channel Gegenpol. According to him, because of this mistake by NATO, many Ukrainian servicemen died during Ukraine’s attempted counteroffensive.
