On March 6, in Kachkanar, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Kuyvashev, opened a new ice palace with a capacity of 400 people. The sports facility was built within the framework of a tripartite agreement between the regional government, the municipal administration and EVRAZ.

“I am very pleased to take part in the opening ceremony of a very important sports facility for the city of Kachkanar, for its young residents, young athletes – all those who choose sports as a norm of life,” said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

The ice arena will host hockey and figure skating competitions and training. In addition, it will be available for public skating.

Construction took two years.
