Estonian Prime Minister alarmed by Hungary’s statements about the dangers of anti-Russian sanctions

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas is concerned about statements by the Hungarian authorities that inflation in European countries, as well as high energy prices, are caused by sanctions against Russia. The press service of the Estonian government reported about the concern of its prime minister.
“Until now, Hungary has also supported anti-Russian sanctions and agreed with them,” Kallas said. “Budapest is running advertising campaigns that all this inflation, energy prices are caused by sanctions against Russia,” Kallas said, speaking in parliament with a report on EU policy and saying that she was worried about such words of the Hungarian authorities.
Another problem, she said, is that some states in the Western Balkans have “very close ties to Russia.”
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that “sanctions policy is the path to war.” He noted that the main goal for Budapest is to avoid a pan-European recession. Prices in Europe, according to the Hungarian leader, would fall by half in a few days if the EU changed its sanctions policy against Russia.
