Rosenergoatom named the targets of Ukrainian shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the shelling of the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP hit substations in order to deprive the station of alternative energy supply, told adviser to the head of Rosenergoatom Renat Karchaa in a comment to Interfax.
“They hit substations. They are trying to deprive nuclear power plants of alternative energy supply, and the city – the main one,” he said.
Karchaa admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to leave Energodar without heat and light due to these shellings, putting the population into a state of stress.
Active shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine resumed on November 19 and 20. Russian Defense Ministry today reported on the continuation of shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 21, a total of eight shells were fired. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation at the ZNPP, accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of creating a threat around the Zaporozhye NPP. He also announced the continuation of Russia’s dialogue with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), noting that there was no significant progress in creating a security zone around the station.
