Essentuki athletes brought four medals from the All-Russian competitions

In Novorossiysk, the results of the All-Russian athletics competitions were summed up. For several days, athletes from all over the country set personal records as part of the Tatyana Zelentsova ZMS Cup. According to the press service of the administration of the resort city, the competition is held for the 22nd time and this year more than 600 runners have gathered at the Central Stadium. In addition to 17 regions of Russia, Novorossia also presented its champions.

Essentuki sports school of the Olympic reserve presented 20 young athletes. According to the results of a stubborn struggle, four residents of the resort town became the best at once. Thus, the first two places were awarded to Ismail Abaykhanov in the track and field all-around 400m + 800m and Daniil Lukin in 1000m + 1500m. The youngest champion in the Novorossiysk competition was Timofey Sidorenko from Essentuki, who took the well-deserved silver medal. The third place in the all-around already at 400m + 800m was taken by Artem Matveytsev.

Honored Master of Sports of the USSR and Honored Coach of the Russian Federation, European champion Tatyana Zelentsova noted that she was able to transfer her love for hurdling to children.

“Teaching children to overcome barriers is my goal,” she added. “And when they learn to take sports barriers, they will be able to handle life barriers!”
