Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will hold a discussion with the Security Council on Thursday on the possible operation of the country’s armed forces in northern Syria, informs state television channel TRT Haber.
Recall that since November 20, Turkey has been carrying out an air operation against the Syrian wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) banned in the country in northern Syria. It became known about the attacks on the city of Kobani and on the northern territory of Iraq. Erdogan assessed the operation as successful and admitted that it would be followed by a ground one.
As noted, the National Security Council will hold its last meeting of this year today. The main agenda will be the fight against terrorism and a possible ground operation in northern Syria.
