Kommersant FM columnist Alexander Levi talks about a phone that works without recharging for a whole week.

The French company Avenir Telecom is preparing to launch sales of a smartphone that can last a whole week on one charge with regular use. We are talking about the Hard Case P28K model, which will hit the market under the Energizer brand. Its telecommunications distributor has long been licensing it from the battery manufacturer.

It was the battery that became the key solution for the new product. The developers increased its capacity to 28,000 mAh, which is about five times more than the average Android smartphone. The creators claim that the Hard Case P28K can work up to 122 hours in talk mode. And in standby mode, the autonomy indicator increases to 2252 hours or three months. And the device is fully charged in less than an hour and a half.

Avenir Telecom or Energizer did not invent a new energy source. A significant increase in battery capacity is ensured by a noticeable increase in the size of the smartphone. I’m sure each of us has at least once held a 10,000 mAh power bank in our hands. Now imagine that you need to fit almost three of them in one case. This is in addition to the filling of the smartphone itself.

The thickness of the Hard Case P28K is 27.8 mm. And the weight of the device reaches 570 g. To understand, in terms of weight and dimensions, this is approximately the same as three iPhone 15 stacked on top of each other. So if you care about compactness and elegance, then the new Energizer will not pass this casting.

But this is an excellent solution for a long trip to places where there may obviously be problems with access to electricity – hunting, fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities. Here the Hard Case P28K will prove useful not only due to its autonomy, but also to the highest standard of protection against dust and moisture IP69. In particular, the number “9” in this index indicates not only maximum resistance to water, but under pressure and high temperature.

The equipment of the device is modest. No 5G, an inconspicuous MediaTek MT6789 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Three cameras on the main unit, Android 14, and a 6.78-inch 1080p display. The smartphone has been on sale since October. The expected cost of the Hard Case P28K is €250.
