In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on August 20, the All-Russian off-road motorcycle competition No Place To Run began with qualifying races. They are held on Sakhalin for the seventh time. Details were told in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Sakhalin Region.
On the opening day, motorcyclists from Krasnodar, Gelendzhik, Moscow, Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod, Yoshkar-Ola, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, as well as Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and other regions of the region took part in the competition.
For qualification, a special site was built near the Aqua City complex. To do this, they used a twenty-foot sea container, a breakwater – a tetrapod, huge tires and wheels, coils from high-voltage wires, stones, springboards and logs.
“The track has been prepared since spring – they collected material, designed obstacles. The main part fell on the last two weeks, they worked day and night. The day before, the athletes assessed the track, suggested what needs to be improved, and the night before the start we completed its construction by 100%,” said Sergey Karpov, organizer of the prologue.
The competition continues. On August 21, participants will start from the beach in the village of Novikovo, on August 22 – from the village of Bereznyaki at 07:30, and on August 23 – from the Olympia residential complex and finish the race at the Gorny Vozdukh STK.
