Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said that the risk of a breakthrough of the flanks of Bakhmut (Artemovsk) was minimized, the “peak of anxiety” regarding the encirclement had passed. According to him, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been working in Bakhmut since today. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will come to the city next.

“From today, we have already brought the Ministry of Internal Affairs there. At the next stage, we are bringing employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations there, because to assess the volume of demining, the material and technical base and the presence of personnel are already needed,” he said.
The battles for Bakhmut have been going on since the summer of 2022. The first to take Bakhmut under the control of Russia on May 20 was the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
