On the eve of the birthday of Yevgeny Ermakov, who died in Afghanistan in 1982, a ski tournament was held in our region in his honor.

This competition is taking place for the 34th year. Their participants included prison staff, veterans and their families. The flag was raised by the captain of last year’s winning team, Vyacheslav Shnyrev. At the opening, those gathered were reminded of the feat of the hero who once worked in colony No. 1.

The races took place in several rounds. The youngest athletes – up to seven years old – were the first to start, covering a distance of 500 m. Ivan Bogomolov won the race.

Among the children aged 8-10 years old at a distance of one kilometer, Sergei Karas had no equal, and among those aged 11-14 years old – Dasha Chugunova. In the age category up to 45 years, the victory went to Ilya Moseev and Anastasia Timina. The race in the over 45 age category was won by Liliya Smirnova and Valery Smirnov.

The 4×2 kilometer relay did not leave the fans indifferent. From the first moments of the race, the management team and PO KPBSTIN fought for the right to become the owner of the challenge cup. As a result, the UFSIN members, having lost only 26 seconds, took second place, with skiers from colony No. 3 in third.
