Employees of FC Tom turned to Putin because of wage arrears

Employees of the football club “Tom” said they were going to appeal to the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the regional prosecutor’s office and the President of the country due to the fact that they have not received a salary since August 2022. According to them, the salary has not been paid to the children’s coaches of the Academy of the club. According to last year, the club’s debts exceeded 200 million rubles. This situation arose due to the fact that Tom lost its sponsors, as well as licenses from RFU (Russian Football Union). The authors of the letter called the situation with “Tom” “slow killing of the club.” They said that they first liquidated the team, and in January of this year it was the turn of the Academy of FC Tom, which is considered one of the strongest football schools in Siberia. It involved about 400 children from 6 to 17 years old.

“In fact, they ended up on the street, since it is not easy to get a job in their specialty now. And most importantly, all of them cannot receive wage arrears, many have nothing to support their families. They promised to pay wage arrears for August-December 2022 after the dismissal, but no one is doing anything for this!”, the authors wrote.

According to Tom’s employees, the new management of the club is not taking any steps to resolve the issue of paying salaries. The authors of the letter believe that the sale of one of the club’s facilities (the team owns two stadiums and a training facility) would help pay back wages. However, the property of the club is under the control of bailiffs.

“April 20 was supposed to be an auction for a training base in Kaltai and, according to our information, there was a buyer who wanted to buy it. However, for some reason the database was divided into several separate lots, and the buyer refused to participate in the auction because of this. And this means that the solution to the problem of paying debts, which we really hoped for, is again postponed for an indefinite period, ”wrote the employees of the Tomsk club.

At the end of the letter, the team’s employees recalled the words of the president that there should be football in Tomsk, and asked him to organize an audit of the situation around the club and the sports sector in the region in general.

Previously, former coaches of the women’s football team, who played under the flag of FC Tom, asked to declare the club bankrupt.
