Emergency mode introduced in Kurgan region due to fires – Kommersant

Governor Vadim Shumkov introduced state of emergency (ES) on the territory of the entire Kurgan region. The reason is the forest fires that have engulfed the region.
Earlier, Mr. Shumkov reported that due to heavy wind in a number of places the situation is critical. “Aircraft cannot rise into the air,” he wrote in his Telegram channelcalling in case of a threat to immediately evacuate on their own.
Now the Il-76 aircraft of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation has arrived in the region, two Il-76s of the Ministry of Defense are expected, rescuers from other regions are being deployed, a total of 239 people and 28 pieces of equipment. “The total grouping of forces and means will be more than 1 thousand people and about 250 pieces of equipment,”— informs regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.
