Embassies urged Russians not to come by car to Latvia and Lithuania

The Russian embassies in Latvia and Lithuania recommend that Russians do not travel to these countries in cars with Russian registration, given the possibility of confiscation of cars based on bans imposed by national authorities. Lithuania has banned the entry of cars with Russian license plates since September 11, and Latvia since September 12.
Russian embassies warn citizens about the ban and strongly recommend against traveling to these countries in private cars with Russian license plates. In case of confiscation of vehicles, Russians are advised to contact the embassy.
Earlier, the European Commission confirmed that entry of Russian cars into EU countries is prohibited. In addition, the carriage of mobile phones, laptops, cosmetics, suitcases, leather and fur products, and personal hygiene products is prohibited.
When entering Lithuania, an exception is made for those traveling from Russia through its territory in private cars in transit to the Kaliningrad region and back.
