Elena Tsyplakova will show “The Way to Happiness”

On April 19 at 21:20 on the Rossiya TV channel, the premiere of the serial drama The Way to Happiness will take place. Cast: Anna Melnikova, Ilya Shakunov, Valentina Panina, Alena Khmelnitskaya, Sergey Gorobchenko, Evgeny Sidikhin and others. Directed by Elena Tsyplakova.

Anya Kalinina (Anna Melnikova) has been dreaming of becoming a doctor since childhood. In the meantime, she is preparing to enter the institute and works part-time at the post office in order to help her grandmother (Valentina Panina), who raised her, at least a little. Kolya (Nikita Kasyanenko), the son of a local businessman Matvey Volkov (Ilya Shakunov) and his wife Lyudmila (Alena Khmelnitskaya), has long and hopelessly been in love with Anya. But one day, a cadet of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Artyom (Vladimir Kovtun) comes to visit the girl’s neighbor, and Anya falls in love for the first time for real. Several days fly by like one moment, young people part, in order to reunite in a month and be together forever. But a series of tragic events disrupt their plans. Will the lovers manage to keep feelings for each other in their hearts? And will fate give them a second chance?

Director Elena Tsyplakova: “I really liked this story – there is no falsehood in it. Yes, this is a melodrama, touching and emotional, but very difficult, sometimes even tough. It raises important, serious questions, there is something to talk about and think about, there is a manifestation of characters, the interweaving of different destinies, it is tense and dynamic in development. And of course, this is a story about people and their relationships – the relationship of a man and a woman, parents and children, young mothers and society, families of different worldviews. But most importantly, it is a deeply moral story. Even the most negative characters come to repentance, to the realization of their lives, their actions and mistakes. But it is also important when the ethical is combined with the aesthetic, so this is also a beautiful story, filmed in amazing places, against the backdrop of the magnificent Russian nature of all seasons.”

The work on the serial film lasted for two years, including due to the fact that all four seasons were shown: spring with blooming lilacs, summer with air trembling from the heat, colorful colors of golden autumn and sparkling snowy winter. Filming took place in St. Petersburg and its environs: in the villages of Ust-Izhora and Vyun, as well as in the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in the city of Pavlovsk.
