One of the stages of the international freeride competition Freeride World Tour Qualifier took place at the Rosa Khutor resort. Elbrus resort rescuer Alim Matkovsky took third place in the final race, as reported on the Kavkaz.RF Telegram channel.

Local riders from Kabardino-Balkaria Salim Nakhushev and Alexey Fakov took second and fifth place in the final. The honor of the Elbrus region was also defended by Idris Uzdenov, Andrei Trutnev and Sofia Vukovich.

From March 19 to 24, the resort in Kabardino-Balkaria will host two stages of the competition. More than 100 participants will take up skiing and snowboarding.

FWQ stages have been taking place since 2007 in the snowiest mountains in the world. Freeriders take part in two races – qualifying and final. Based on the results of the competition, participants will receive rating points – a pass to the next stage. The entire world tour will end at the end of April.

It was previously reported that Kabardino-Balkaria entered the TOP 10 regions with the most active growth in tourist flow in 2023.
