El Niño to intensify extreme heat in 2024

Head of Long Range Forecasts UK Met Office Adam Scaife informed Guardian that an increase in El Niño in 2023 will cause global temperatures, including record heat and drought.
El Niño (Southern Oscillation) – natural fluctuations in the upper layer of water in the Pacific Ocean near the equator, which are repeated every two to seven years and last for periods of five years. El Niño affects the abnormally high temperatures and droughts that affect the economies of countries that rely on agriculture and fishing.
Scientists suggest that 2023 will be warmer than the previous one. Note that 2022 ranked fifth among the warmest years on record. Although El Niño is expected this year, this effect has a delayed effect, so climate scientists predict record temperatures only in 2024.
In addition, Skyfe said that there is a 50 percent chance of a global temperature increase of more than one and a half degrees compared to the beginning of the 20th century.
