At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Gukalenko was extradited to Russia from Egypt, who is accused of giving a bribe, Izvestia reports.
According to investigators, in March-April 2018, he agreed to transfer a bribe to a border guard so that he would let through a transport loaded with sanctioned products from Belarus to Russia.
Gukalenko managed to escape abroad, but as a result of interaction between the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the Russian Bureau of Interpol, Gukalenko was taken to Moscow.
On June 3, Paraguay returned to Russia two of our fellow citizens who had been put on the international wanted list. The first of them is Andrei Andreev, who has been on the wanted list since 2000. The investigation believes that Andreev was a member of a stable armed criminal group, which is charged with grave and especially grave crimes. As for Andreev personally, he will be charged with banditry, murder, kidnapping, extortion, intentional damage to other people’s property, theft, illegal arms trafficking, forgery of documents and illegal border crossing.
The second Russian, handed over to law enforcement officers, is called Roman Morozov. He was wanted for more than 2 years, he is suspected of eight counts of embezzlement and six counts of fraud.
