The new stamps feature Charles III in profile, a longstanding tradition dating back to the mid-19th century, when the Penny Black postage stamp appeared with a profile of Queen Victoria.
According to the director of public relations of the Royal Mail, David Gold, the new image of the monarch is notable because Charles III is depicted without a crown.
