Echo of Atlantis – 118 or 128 centuries ago?

It is amazing that mountains of research books on Atlantis were born from just a few lines of Plato in the Timaeus dialogue and ten book pages in the Critias dialogue.

Critias cites an ancient legend of the Egyptian priests about a powerful state, the huge island of Atlantis, which sank to the bottom of the sea as a result of a monstrous earthquake.

It is surprising that the tradition is believed almost absolutely. The very existence of Atlantis is practically not questioned – particulars are discussed, debated. in the scientific literature. Not to mention the media. For example, from 2012 to this day, some publications, including respectable ones, print and reprint an article by Russian researcher Vladimir Gramatyuk under the titles “Atlantis – the exact location has been established”, “Plato, you are wrong! The exact location of the legendary Atlantis has been established”; other media retell it under the headings “Russian scientist found Atlantis”, and the like.

In this case, the author of the study cannot be denied logic. He claims:

“The “fatal” mistake of Plato, Critias (or Solon) was revealed, which led to confusion with the location of Atlantis … Atlantis could not be located in any far corner of the world and even in the Atlantic Ocean … Atlantis was closer to the center of ancient civilization – in the Mediterranean Sea “.

Analyzing the text of Plato, the researcher comes to a logical, convincing conclusion that Atlantis was not located to the west of Gibraltar, already in the Atlantic Ocean, but to the east, between the islands of Crete, Cyprus and the northern coast of Africa – against the mouth of the Nile.

Everything is accurate. Earnestly. I repeat: based on an analysis of the data given in the story of the Egyptian priests to the ancient Greek archon Solon – in the presentation of Critias and, then, Plato.

But analysis of the same data can lead to the same logical conclusion that Atlantis did not exist at all.

For example, according to Critias and Plato, in the event of a war, Atlantis could put into operation ten thousand war chariots. Each of sixty thousand plots countries had to submit “two riding horses with two riders, a two-horse team without a chariot, a warrior with a small shield capable of getting off it and fighting on foot, a driver who would drive the team horses, two hoplites, two archers and a slinger, three stone throwers and spearmen , four sailors each, so that there are enough people for the total number of one thousand two hundred ships “.

Total – 900 thousand.

Armada. Horse, foot and sea. Unthinkable for the history of ancient times known to us. For example, in modern Russia, with a population of 145 million, the Armed Forces have a staff of just over 2 million people, including about a million servicemen.

The Soviet scientist Nikolai Zhirov (1903-1970), the creator of atlantology, came to the conclusion that, based on Plato’s information about the size of the army, the population of Atlantis was 6 million people.

One island state with a population of 6 million – 118 centuries ago? What then was the population of the ecumene?

According to various sources, the entire population of Europe 22 centuries ago was 33-44 million.

Now about the territory. According to Critias, the area of ​​Atlantis is 2,000 stadia by 3,000 stadia. This is approximately 190 thousand square kilometers. That is, the area of ​​the seven Sicilies and Cyprus in addition.

If such a gigantic island sank to the bottom of the sea as a result of an earthquake (an explosion of a volcano), then a wave should have swept across the entire Mediterranean, including northern Africa. This should not be forgotten. The Flood immediately comes to mind.

Separately – the influence of civilization. From the story of the priests: “Much was imported to them from subject countries, but most of the necessities for life were provided by the island itself, first of all, any kind of fossil hard and fusible metals, including what is now known only by name, and then existed on in fact: native orichalcum, extracted from the bowels of the earth in various places of the island and in its value was second only to gold.

And such metallurgy, such mining – 118 centuries ago.

If a state with a uniquely high civilization existed on such a large territory, then did its influence not extend to neighboring borders? However, there is no information. Including in the story of the Egyptian priests. On the contrary, one gets the feeling that Atlantis lived separately, and the whole surrounding world – separately. Although he fought with Atlantis. For clarity, I will draw another analogy. Imagine that such a state, with such an incredible civilization, existed within our borders, on the territory of the current Kaluga, Tula, Smolensk, Oryol and Ryazan regions. And had no effect on the neighbors? Left no traces in their civilization? That is, the rest continued to slurp cabbage soup with bast shoes?

This cannot be. So Atlantis didn’t exist? Or just no memory left. Atlantis itself remained in the legends, but not a word about its influence on the world?

Here it is impossible not to recall what the Egyptian priests said to the ancient Greek archon Solon:

“Oh, Solon, Solon! You Hellenes remain forever children, and there is no elder among the Hellenes!.. Your minds do not preserve in themselves any tradition that has passed from generation to generation, grayed over time … Traditions preserved by us are more ancient than all others … All this has been imprinted since ancient times in the records we keep in our temples; meanwhile, among you and other peoples, every time, as soon as writing and everything else that is necessary for urban life has time to develop, again and again at the appointed time, streams fall from heaven like pestilence, leaving all of you only illiterate and unlearned. And you start all over again, as if you had just been born, knowing nothing about what happened in ancient times in our country or in your own country. So, you keep the memory of only one flood, and there were many before that.”

Nevertheless, I repeat: the Egyptian priests preserved, from generation to generation passed on detailed information about Atlantis, but not a word about its influence on the world. More than strange.

Atlantis – a myth that arose from the air, from fantasies? Or was it once based on something and became a fact in the traditions of the Egyptian priests? If Atlantis didn’t exist, then what did?

Let’s turn to the riddles from the darkness of time.

The ancient Egyptians 60 centuries ago built pyramids according to the magnetic pole of the Earth and knew the radius of the Earth. The Incas owned the secrets of powder metallurgy. The Sumerians knew about the eight planets of the solar system.

And many many others. But the riddle of riddles is that there is no foundation, basis, system of this knowledge. How are they achieved, in what way, finally, by what measurements?

They just knew, that’s all. Received them ready made.

All this prehistoric knowledge, facts and mysteries testify that there was a Civilization that disappeared as a result of the Catastrophe. Mankind emerged from it naked and barefoot, dressed in animal skins and with clubs in their hands, but preserving and passing on fragments of incomprehensible knowledge from generation to generation.

The time of the Catastrophe varies – approximately 128 centuries ago.

Causes of the Catastrophe are hypothetical. From the collision of the Earth with a giant asteroid to a nuclear or thermonuclear war. As Einstein said: “After the Third World War, in the Fourth World War, people will fight with clubs.”

Let us now turn to the dates from Plato’s Critias. Atlantis died 9 thousand years ago. Operating for thousands of years implies a backlash, assumptions of several centuries. Total – at least 90 or more than 90 centuries. Now imagine: what a distant – 90 centuries! Timaeus, Critias, Socrates, Hermocrates and Plato heard the ringing. And let’s judge sensibly: what can happen to any fact, to any legend for more than 90 centuries? Imagine a story passed from mouth to mouth for 9,000 years. What changes, additions, distortions will it undergo? On the example of the well-known history of mankind, we know well what a corrupted phone of legends is. Although they say that a myth is a fragment of ancient truth, it is only a fragment.

So, let’s add to the 90 centuries before Plato 6 centuries after Plato, BC. And – 22nd century AD. Total – 118 centuries ago. Well, of course, ten more centuries are possible, “lost” in 9 thousand years of passing the myth from mouth to mouth.

Thus, the disappearance of Platonic Atlantis roughly coincides in time with the planetary Catastrophe.

And then the myth of Atlantis finds its place in world history. And in terms of time, and, most importantly, in terms of details and meaning.

So, perhaps Atlantis is not a separate island at all, but an image of the entire Earth that has come down to us in legends at the time of the Catastrophe?
