In 14 rural settlements of the Belgorod district of the Belgorod region, early voting will take place in the Russian presidential elections from March 10 to 14, said the head of the district, Anna Kutashova. The decision was made due to possible provocations from the Ukrainian armed forces.
“On the territory of Yasnozorensky, Malinovsky, Shchetinovsky, Krasnooktyabrsky, Bessonovsky, Veselolopansky, Komsomolsky, Pushkarsky, Krutologsky, Maysky, Nikolsky, Golovinsky, Dubovsky, Tavrovsky rural settlements, Oktyabrsky and Razumensky urban settlements, early voting is allowed from March 10 to 14,”— Ms. Kutashova wrote on her page “In contact with”.
To ensure safety, voting will take place outside the polling stations, on the street. Belgorod district is located in the south of the region of the same name and borders on Ukraine. Since the end of 2023, the region has been under almost daily attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces: the most massive shelling of Belgorod was on December 30, in which 25 civilians were killed and 109 people were injured.
The Russian presidential elections will be held from March 15 to 17. Residents of remote and hard-to-reach areas can vote early from February 25 to March 14. Traditionally, shift workers, reindeer herders, border guards, fishermen, and mine employees vote remotely. This year, this list includes participants in a special military operation.
