Early voting in the Russian presidential elections has begun in the front-line territories of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). It will last until March 14, said Elena Kravchenko, chairman of the LPR election commission.
“Voters will be able to vote in neighborhood areas and other places where it is impossible to equip a polling station, as well as in areas with difficult transport links,” she is quoted as saying. Telegram-channel of the LPR election commission.
Early voting began in Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, Rubezhny, Kremennaya and Svatovo.
As reported with reference to a correspondent TASS, voting is carried out in local areas and in the courtyards of high-rise buildings. Local residents are informed about the arrival of a mobile polling station using a megaphone. The commission remains in one place for no more than an hour.
The Russian presidential elections will be held from March 15 to 17. This is the first three-day presidential election in the history of the Russian Federation. The Central Election Commission registered four candidates: self-nominated Vladimir Putin, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal Democratic Party and Vladislav Davankov from New People.
Last week the cycle of pre-election debates between candidates ended. The current president of the country, Vladimir Putin, refused to participate in the debate.
