Admiral Alexander Moiseev has been appointed acting commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, a number of sources report. The Ministry of Defense has not yet officially announced the change of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. On the department’s website, in the corresponding section, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, is still listed.

As Alexander Moiseev’s colleagues told MK, he was a pioneer in many naval affairs. He earned the Gold Star of Hero of Russia in the depths of the sea.

“Alexander Alekseevich went through the unconventional path of a naval submarine officer,” says the chairman of the St. Petersburg Club of Submariners, Captain 1st Rank Reserve Igor Kurdin. — In 1987, he graduated from the Popov Higher Naval School of Radio Electronics in Petrodvorets. As one of the best graduates, he joined the Northern Fleet. On the nuclear submarine K-117 he was appointed engineer of the computer group of the radio-technical warhead. That is, this is not a direct path to the captain’s bridge. Then he became the head of the radio engineering combat unit. He showed himself as a person capable of moving further along the command line. In 1992, Alexander Moiseev became the senior assistant to the commander of the K-117 nuclear submarine for combat control. This is a very rare case, there are very few such people.

Alexander Moiseev received his first Order of Courage while being the first mate on the strategic nuclear submarine cruiser K-18 Karelia.

This was in 1994. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the reform of the army, the intensity of long-distance campaigns decreased. But on the eve of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Fleet, it was decided to organize a group Arctic cruise of nuclear-powered ships. The K-18 missile carrier and the B-414 multi-purpose submarine of the Northern Fleet flotilla set off for the North Pole. The division commander, Rear Admiral Alexander Berzin, was appointed commander of the campaign.

“I was on board the K-18, when we approached the point of the geographic north pole, the crew, using an echometer, found the treasured “window” in the solid ice,” says Alexander Berzin. — An ascent occurred. The task was to install, for the first time in history, the Russian tricolor and St. Andrew’s flag at the point where all meridians and time zones converge.

“Arctic Admiral” Alexander Berzin recalls: in order not to pull out the standard lifeboat intended for rescue, he took with him from home an inflatable rubber boat, which he usually used for fishing. The most worthy were chosen for the “banner group” – the senior assistant commander of K-18, Lieutenant Commander Alexander Moiseev, and the division’s flagship navigator, Captain 2nd Rank Vladimir Bogomazov.

— It was about 15 meters to the ice shore. When the submariners in life jackets loaded into a rubber boat, they asked: “Comrade Admiral, where are the oars?” It turned out that in the turmoil, preparing for the raid on the Pole, I forgot them at home. But, as they say, “the need for invention is cunning.” We had entrenching tools and shovels with us. The submariners took two shovels and buried them. So we got to the ice floe. They installed flagpoles there and raised the Russian and St. Andrew’s flags at the northernmost point of the Earth.

We also managed to contact captain 1st rank reserve Yuri Yurchenko, who was then the commander of K-18.

“The Pole is not conquered just like that,” says Yuri Ivanovich. — There were all sorts of things on that trip, including breakdowns. But thanks to the will of all crew members, we reached the North Pole. The task was completed. Sasha Moiseev was my senior assistant for combat control, I am grateful to him for helping me as a commander. Then I promoted it as best I could. He loved service, was very competent and hardworking.

In many achievements, Alexander Moiseev was a pioneer.

“We served with him in the same division of missile submarines,” says captain 1st rank in the reserve Igor Kurdin. — At different times, we commanded the nuclear-powered strategic missile submarine cruiser K-407 Novomoskovsk. Once, in a conversation with me, he mentioned that he had preserved the core of the crew that I had laid down.

On July 7, 1998, two German commercial microsatellites Tubsat-N and Tubsat-N1 were successfully launched into low Earth orbit from the K-407 submarine using a Shtil launch vehicle from an underwater position. Alexander Moiseev, as the commander of the Novomoskovsk nuclear submarine, went down in the history of astronautics.

— It should be noted that he has extensive experience in ice diving. He received the second Order of Courage when in 2007, as a division commander, he led the transition of the nuclear submarine Ryazan from the Kola Peninsula to Kamchatka. For a month, the Severomorsk sailed under the ice, simultaneously solving problems of particular importance.

In 2011, as the commander of a formation of strategic submarines of the Northern Fleet, Alexander Moiseev was awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of Russia for successfully testing the latest weapons and carrying out a number of missile launches.

— Alexander Alekseevich commanded the Northern Fleet for almost four years. This is the most powerful, largest association of the Russian Navy. Over these years, the fleet fulfilled all assigned tasks and there were no accidents. Today, this is the most worthy candidate for the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. We all hope that the right decisions will be made and that there will be no mistakes.

Reserve captain 1st rank Yuri Yurchenko is also pleased with the new appointment of Alexander Moiseev.

“There is no one better than him in the fleet now,” notes Yuri Ivanovich.

Rear Admiral Alexander Berzin, who at one time passed on his knowledge and experience to Alexander Moiseev, says that he is very proud of his student.

“Alexander Moiseev is a wonderful person, a wonderful officer, a wonderful sailor,” says “Arctic Admiral” Alexander Berzin. “He will be in his place as commander-in-chief of the Navy.
