Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is official closed. There will be no more new attempts to revive the once largest exhibition of the video game industry, said E3 President and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis.

According to Pierre-Louis, over the years the entertainment industry has changed, and companies now host online and offline events themselves, without the involvement of venues and other companies. Gaming conferences like Summer Game Fest have gained popularity, and the Gamescom video game exhibition also remains.

Electronic Entertainment Expo has been held since 1995 in Los Angeles and has been the largest event in the gaming industry for many years. The exhibition’s first problems appeared in 2018, when Sony refused to hold its press conference at E3, replacing it with its own events. Subsequently, the coronavirus pandemic and the departure of other partners and companies further undermined the exhibition’s capabilities. The last E3 was held in 2021 in an online format; the in-person event was last held in 2019.
