Russian Artyom Dzyuba has been named the most expensive free agent in the world in modern football, according to the analytical portal Transfermarkt.
The former Zenit striker was valued at €4 million. Second place on the list is shared by Portuguese defender Edgar Yeh and Portuguese striker Fabio Martins (€3.5 million each).
Earlier, Dzyuba terminated the contract with the Turkish club Adana Demirspor, whose player he became in the summer of 2022, moving as a free agent. For the Turkish club, the Russian played only five meetings in all competitions, and scored one goal. His contract ran until June 30, 2023, with a possible extension for another season.
34-year-old Artem Dzyuba is the best scorer in the history of the Russian championships. In the completed season of the Russian Premier League, Dzyuba played in 28 matches, scored 11 goals and gave five assists.
