Krasnodar is traditionally considered an adherent of attacking football, although it has become more pragmatic under the current head coach Vladimir Ivic. But Dynamo, with a new mentor Marcel Lichka, took a course on the attack so sharply that it tilted a little in the wrong direction and conceded as many as eight goals in three rounds of the championship. By the way, Krasnodar put three of them in blue and white at the start of the national championship.

The second meeting of the teams was already within the framework of the Russian Cup, but again in Moscow it developed according to a different scenario. Yes, the ingredients were different. For the first time, the Uruguayan defender Lucas Olasa, recently acquired from the Spanish Valladolid, got into the application from the same Kuban players, and Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov, who had not played for his native club for a long time, who returned from the lease, entered the starting lineup.

The debut of the match, apparently, left a certain imprint on the fact that the opponents started in the Cup with defeats and therefore they were unnecessarily pressed by the need to achieve a positive result. In addition, the lack of leading attackers, who usually make the difference, also affected. Vyacheslav Grulev was very active among the Dynamo team, who recently scored the winning goal in the championship against Zenit. But he also ruined a great moment when he finished off the ball after rescuing Krasnodar goalkeeper Stanislav Agkatsev, who repelled an insidious shot with a rebound by Dmitry Skopintsev. And in general, there were almost no sharp moments.

And yet, the stubborn Grulev got his way. It was he who earned a penalty by running one on one with Agkatsev and forcing him to foul. Dynamo’s full-time penalty taker Daniil Fomin, I remember, experienced some difficulties in the execution of the 11-meter penalty, but this time he shot clearly. And soon Grulev closed the canopy of Yaroslav Gladyshev with his head, and the Muscovites took the lead 2:0. And then Agkatsev still parried a biting blow from behind Denis Makarov’s penalty area.

It seemed that “Krasnodar”, as they say, swam, and he urgently needs a break so that Ivic can bring his team to life. However, his players themselves came to their senses and gave out just a fiery ending of the first half. Nikita Krivtsov unexpectedly showed John Cordoba, playing in the style of the Colombian Bulls striker, who was on the bench. The reference midfielder boldly rushed into the penalty area to ram and loaded on goal from under the defender. And right there, Krasnodar also got the right to a penalty kick, when the ball bounced into the hand of Dynamo Roberto Fernandez after a shot by Alexander Ektov. But Ilzat Akhmetov missed from the “point”, although goalkeeper Igor Leshchuk was already falling into the opposite corner.

Immediately after the break, Moses Kobnan broke free in private with Leshchuk and equalized the score. At Dynamo, Grulev continued to be active, who missed the opportunity to score a double, jumping out to the gate on the left half-flank. And “Krasnodar” appeared on the field of Cordoba, with its very appearance terrifying the defenders. In addition, Olasa made his debut, with more than 100 matches in the Spanish top league. Muscovites in response also rolled out heavy artillery in the person of Konstantin Tyukavin and Arsen Zakharyan. But Grulev fired again, whose kick from outside the penalty area was corrected by Kaio from Krasnodar.

Dynamo took the lead 3:2, and that was not all. Cordoba scared Stanislav Bessmertny so much that the young and inexperienced white-and-blue defender knocked him down in the penalty area. The Colombian himself confidently converted the penalty. A draw 3:3 and the prospect of finding out the relationship already in the penalty shootout did not suit the hosts first of all. After connecting to the standard Fernandez in the turmoil at the gate hit the post, there was a feeling that the scoring program of the regular time of the meeting was still exhausted. But before the final whistle, Zakharyan played for broke. They violated the rules against him at the entrance to the penalty area, and the Dynamo midfielder scored from this set piece, even though he was greatly helped by the rebound from Kevin Lenini.

Muscovites pulled out a 4-3 win and with four points moved up to second place in Group D, where Spartak is in the lead with six points. Nizhny Novgorod has two points, while Krasnodar has zero so far.
