Five Russian clubs, including Dynamo-Altai Barnaul, entered the All-Russian Hockey League for the 2023-2024 season. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of league leaders in Sochi on May 21.

In addition to Dynamo-Altai, the VHL included the team of Saratov Kristall, Norilsk, CSK VVS Samara and Chelny.

Thus, 29 clubs will participate in the new VHL season. Last season, 26 teams played in the Major Hockey League.

Recall that Dynamo-Altai played in the VHL-B division last season and took second place. However, the division decided to liquidate.

“We had a choice: disband the team or transfer it to the VHL-A. I received a huge number of requests from fans and athletes to support the transition of the club to a higher division,” said the Governor of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko in the telegram channel.
