Official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk told, that within the framework of the federal operational and preventive operation “Illegal 2023” more than 15 thousand people were deported from Russia. According to her, during the operation, about 3.6 thousand criminal cases were opened on illegal migration, border crossing and drug and weapons trafficking.
“During the operational and preventive operation, about 96 thousand violations of migration legislation were identified, including more than 73 thousand violations of the rules of entry, exit, transit travel and stay (residence) of foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation and over 22 thousand violations of the implementation procedure foreigners working,” said Irina Volk.
She added that employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs identified 447 people who are on the federal and international wanted list. Operation Illegal 2023 was carried out in various Russian regions in two stages – from June 19 to 25 and from October 2 to 8.
Today, November 7, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev statedthat security forces should strengthen control over migrants when accepting Russian citizenship, as well as when issuing them temporary residence permits in the country. Migrants who break the law, according to the minister, must be expelled from Russia. In March, he said that the number of migrants deported from Russia over the past year increased by 2.5 times. In September of this year, a bill on the expulsion of migrants for violating the Code of Administrative Offenses was introduced to the State Duma.
