A criminal case has been opened into the death of businessman and producer Pyotr Gavrilov after an operation at the clinic of the famous surgeon Timur Khaidarov. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Moscow. A check is being carried out at the clinic.
The doctor himself said in an interview with Izvestia that he knew the deceased personally, and he is also on good terms with his family.
The surgeon added that the operation was performed by an experienced doctor with over 3.5 thousand similar procedures under his belt. There were no deaths.
The businessman underwent bariatric surgery aimed at reducing the volume of his stomach. Khaidarov put forward a version that the cause of the patient’s death could have been malignant hyperthermia.
