Drivers of Lada cars were most often responsible for road accidents in 2022

Drivers who were driving cars of the Lada Granta, Kalina and Priora models this year most often became the culprits of road accidents that occurred on the territory of Russia. They account for 18% of accidents.
By a wide margin from the owners of cars of the VAZ / Lada brand, the TOP-5 of the anti-rating of the most frequent perpetrators of road accidents included drivers of Kia (8%), Renault (6%), Nissan (5%) and Volkswagen (4%). About it informs TASS with reference to the study of the VSK insurance house.
The study, which was conducted on the basis of more than 80,000 applications filed for OSAGO payments, states that in 80% of cases, the perpetrators of road accidents were men. At the same time, 30% of accidents occur among drivers aged 18-30 years. Contrary to the opinion that older people often get into accidents due to reduced concentration, according to VSK, car owners over 60 accounted for only 18% of accidents.
It has been calculated that the average payments under OSAGO for domestically produced cars and Nissan cars at the end of the year amounted to 61 thousand rubles, for Volkswagen this figure is 60 thousand rubles, for Kia and Renault – 57 thousand rubles.
According to the results of nine months of 2022, the TOP-5 most dangerous Russian regions included the Krasnodar Territory (4% of accidents in the total volume of insured events under OSAGO), Moscow and the Moscow Region (2% each), the Rostov Region (1.6%) and Bashkortostan (1.4%).
Meanwhile, the study notes that over the specified period, when compared with last year’s figures, the number of accidents in Russia decreased by 32%.
