DR: half of Ukrainian refugees want to stay in Denmark after the end of the conflict

Danish Broadcasting Company Danmarks Radio stated that almost half of Ukrainian refugees (49.5%) want to remain in Denmark even if hostilities in their homeland end.
According to Karen-Inge Karstoft, a specialist from the University of Copenhagen, the fact that most refugees from Ukraine want to stay in Denmark was a big surprise.
“The reluctance of Ukrainian refugees to return home could be affected by the prolongation of hostilities. Among other things, by now many Ukrainians have already managed to establish a new life in Denmark. They found jobs, got their children into school, and so on,” said Karen-Inge Karstoft.
She clarified that it will take a lot of time to restore Ukraine, so the idea of staying in Denmark seems very attractive to Ukrainian refugees.
