A flayer who hunted cats with an air rifle in courtyards in the south-west of the capital received a real term. The verdict was a real gift for animal rights activists who insisted on the most severe punishment for the killer of pets.
As it became known to MK, on December 18, 2020, a resident of Garibaldi Street found a gray cat lying motionless near the entrance. Local residents took care of the purrs living in the basement: they sterilized them in time, fed them, and they guarded the basements from raids of rats and mice. Dymka was the darling of the court at all. She was taken to the veterinary clinic, where the patient was found to have a penetrating bullet wound. A few days later, a black and white cat named Big was found there. The animal was also mutilated – it was shot right in the face, the poor fellow’s jaw was broken. They were able to save the cats, but they remained disabled.
And on January 5, 2021, on the nearby street of Architect Vlasov, a man opened fire on cats from the window of his foreign car. One cat was unable to escape from the flayer and died on the spot.
Local residents wrote a statement to the police, and soon the 31-year-old shooter was detained. They traced him on CCTV cameras. Several pistols were found in his home. On the man’s social network page, there were many photos with weapons, including a powerful air rifle and a German MP-40 from the Second World War.
The stepfather of the flayer came to court, who raised his stepson from the age of one. Three lawyers defended the shooter in court. He himself kept silent throughout the process. As Olga Shendyapina, a senior assistant to the Cheryomushkinsky inter-district prosecutor, told MK, the court sentenced a man to imprisonment for a period of 2 years and 6 months in a colony-settlement for hooliganism and cruelty to animals.
