This weekend, the largest dog show of all breeds “Russia 2022” was held at the Crocus Expo IEC. The best breeders, veterinarians, international experts, cynologists and, of course, the most beautiful, most athletic and smartest dogs have gathered under one roof.

The pavilions of the Crocus Expo have turned into a real city of dogs: everyone’s favorite corgis and golden retrievers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Labradors, dachshunds and Akitas, as well as such rare breeds of dogs as the English Foxhound, Bourbon Pointer, Gascon-Saintonge have gathered under one roof. hound, Danish-Swedish farm dog and many others. More than 10 thousand dogs representing 267 breeds took part in the exhibition.

“For all cynologists and dog lovers, this exhibition is always a long-awaited event. This year the reality exceeded expectations: the number of participants is a record for all the years. For those who are at such an event for the first time, this is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the world of dogs in all its beauty and diversity. It was possible to watch not only breed rings, where the best of the best were chosen, but also listen to lectures from leading experts in the field of cynology and veterinary medicine, cheer on our participants in sports in the main ring, learn about where dogs work and how they help people . The program turned out to be rich, we hope that all participants and guests received the maximum benefit and a charge of joy from our four-legged friends,” comments the President of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir GOLUBEV.

The first day of the exhibition was full of various events: rally-obedience competitions were held (the judges evaluated the clarity of the dog’s performance of various exercises and the harmony of the relationship between the dog and the person), demonstration performances in frisbee freestyle, where you could see dogs flying and performing various tricks. As part of the work of the Dog at Work booth, guests and participants learned about how dogs help find lost people, how they monitor aviation security, blog and help people with disabilities.

On the second day of the exhibition, the audience watched the spectacular Dog Dancing Championship, nosework demonstrations, and also learned everything about the work of guide dogs, the working days of shepherd dogs and hunters.

In addition, on both days of the exhibition, everyone could get free veterinary consultations, listen to lectures from leading specialists of the RKF Educational Center, watch the participants of the Young Handler Competition and get acquainted with veteran dogs who have retired after service and are looking for new owners.

Traditionally, first in the breed, and then in the main ring, the most beautiful pets competed for the title of the best dog in the show. The best dog of the first day was the Azawakh dog.

In the fight for the title of the best dog of the exhibition of the second day, the dog of the American Akita breed won.

Thus, the best dogs of the first and second days reached the long-awaited superfinal: the judge had to choose whether Azawakh or American Akita would be the best dog of the show. In a serious struggle, after a careful selection, the best dog of the two days of the exhibition was the dog of the Azawakh breed.
