In Yalta died 14-year-old dog Mukhtar, who was also called the “Crimean Hatiko”. He searched for 12 years among passers-by for the owner, who died 12 years ago.
The dog has become a local legend and landmark over the years. Vacationers took pictures with him.
According to the Telegram channel Radiotochka NSN, the dog liked to “sing along” to street musicians and periodically lived with a local trumpeter, but one day he did not want to go up to the apartment and after that he died.
Now the city administration is discussing the issue of establishing a monument to Mukhtar.
Recall that in Japan, the dog of the Akita Inu breed from May 21, 1925 to March 8, 1935 was waiting at the Shibuya station for his owner, Professor Hidesaburo Ueno, who went to work at the university and died of a stroke. At the same time, a monument was erected to Khatik during the life of the dog. However, during the Second World War, the monument was melted down for military purposes, but restored in 1948. Hachiko’s remains are preserved as an effigy at the National Science Museum in Ueno.
