Doctors found a denture stuck in the intestines of a resident of Nizhnevartovsk
At the Nizhnevartovsk District Clinical Hospital, doctors saved a man whose denture was stuck in his intestines. This was reported by the press service of the medical institution.
The man turned to doctors complaining of pain in the intestines and increased body temperature. He reported that two days before visiting the hospital he accidentally swallowed his dental bridge.
After the examination, it became clear that the shape of the prosthesis provoked an inflammatory process by clinging to the intestinal wall. After establishing that there were no breakdowns in the intestines, doctors decided to remove the foreign object using endoscopic intervention.
Doctors inserted a colonoscope into the patient and examined the area of the intestine where the denture was located. They then used an endoscopic snare to carefully remove the object.
Six days after the procedure, the patient was discharged from the hospital.
