He spoke about this on Thursday, January 19, on the air of the program “About the Most Important” on the TV channel “Russia 1”.
According to the doctor, gargling with soda is a common mistake in people. The otolaryngologist claims that in this way relief can only be obtained for a while. “Soda dries out the back wall of the throat – this is very bad,” Zaitsev explained. “At the moment of rinsing (a person) it becomes comfortable, but over time, and this is a short time, the mucous membrane (pharyngeal membrane) begins to dry out, and the inflammation torments the patient even more.”
The doctor also warned against self-removal of plugs from the tonsils with a spoon. According to the doctor, if a person presses a spoon or any other object on the tonsils, then the inflammation intensifies and therefore the person only makes himself worse.
The third common mistake in the treatment of sore throat, according to Zaitsev, is gargling with kerosene. The physician claims that this method can generally lead to cancer of the larynx, palatine tonsils or the root of the tongue.

According to the expert, the wave of diseases observed today was caused by swine flu, which the citizens of our country have not encountered for more than 10 years, as a result of which the infection spread very quickly and gave severe symptoms.
