How reports Lenta.ru, head of the neurology department for patients with acute cerebrovascular accident at the Veresaev City Clinical Hospital of the Department of Health, Dzhavgarat Murtazalieva, in a conversation with journalists, refuted the common idea that stroke is mainly diagnosed in older people.
The specialist recalled that many ailments that lead to stroke have become significantly “younger” in recent years.
“Previously, stroke patients aged 50-60 were considered young. Now… 40-year-olds are no longer uncommon, there are also 30-year-old patients,” the doctor said, adding that younger patients recover faster from a stroke.
“Full recovery is possible in some cases, and the younger the patient, the better his rehabilitation potential,” she noted.
