The Russian military has equipped an “underground city” in the Kherson direction. This was reported by a RIA Novosti correspondent. They covered their dugouts with airfield slabs and covered them with earthen embankments. In this way, the military is trying to protect itself from shelling.

“Here we organized an underground city. The priority was to protect the personnel from artillery shells, shrapnel, and drops from copters,” said the head of the clothing service of the regiment of the Dnepr group of troops. “As we saw, all the dugouts where our personnel live are covered with airfield slabs and there are earthen embankments on them. The most important thing is to protect yourself and save personnel to carry out combat missions,” he added.

The passages and trenches of the “underground city” are three kilometers long and about three meters deep underground. The “underground city” has living quarters, a kitchen, a dining room, a bathhouse, a gym, a laundry, a drying room, a clothing repair shop, and a hairdresser. Residential dugouts accommodate six to eight people: they have stoves, communications, electricity, and central warning.
