The news of the death of artist Evgeny Kungurov shocked the entire show business. The young, forty-year-old artist, according to preliminary data, committed suicide. It became known that Evgeniy was depressed, and in connection with this he was observed by a psychiatrist in a private clinic. On the eve of his suicide, he also attended an appointment, and hospitalization was even recommended, but Kungurov refused. He then told his wife over the phone that he was going to commit suicide. A suicide note was found in the apartment.
Colleagues who communicated with him recently still cannot come to their senses. Singer Dmitry Koldun saw Evgeny in dressing rooms, including at Crocus City Hall, where they had joint concerts. The artist is trying to understand how this could happen to a person who had plans for his life.
– We met in 2013, I even remember this day: June 8, the opening of the “Hands Up” beach. He was just participating in “The Voice” at that time. And in recent months we have crossed paths several times – we were placed in the same dressing room in the Kremlin, in Crocus… The first thing I did when I read the news was to remember and analyze how this could happen? And I didn’t find a single clue. I don’t know what a person who is about to commit suicide should look like, but in my mind it’s clearly not like that. We joked, we discussed some things: more or less serious. Everything was quite lively, it didn’t seem to me at all that anything was going wrong. On the contrary, he shared his successes and was glad that he was invited somewhere to receive an award.
– So, he still made plans for the future?
– In any case, I think that a person who is going to end everything, in my opinion, should be at least several times more indifferent to what is happening around him. And he was inspired, he communicated with interest.
– Was he passionate about what he did?
– Firstly, he was very talented, and it would be wrong to bury such talent in the ground, and I think he knew it. He walked his own path, believed in what he did. It cannot be otherwise.
