Distraught Pskov survivalists hid in a dugout from the “evacuation” and injured a policeman

They attacked a PDN employee when she came to visit their ten-year-old son

Details of a terrible incident in the small village of Novaya, Pustoshkinsky district, Pskov region, have become known. A PDN employee who tried to talk to the mother of an unexpectedly missing boy received serious stab wounds to her head, neck and arms from the inadequate parents of the wanted child. Together with her roommate, who had already been convicted of extremism, the boy’s mother was hiding in a remote village from an imaginary evacuation and digging dugouts.

As MK found out, the young woman, along with her ten-year-old son and partner, settled in this village about half a year ago. The village is very small – only three houses. But there are other similar small villages nearby, and everyone in the area knows each other.

“This lady Katya and her man didn’t communicate with anyone at all,” a local resident told us. “They suddenly appeared in our village out of nowhere, and there was a child with them. They have not yet registered the house, which was bought for about 100 thousand rubles. They lived there separately, on their own.

It was immediately clear to all of us that this family was somehow different. They started digging dugouts next to the house, they only went to the regional center for food, the boy was not allowed to communicate with anyone, and this woman herself did not allow anyone into the house.”

In the fall, when Ekaterina’s son did not show up at the village school, local residents sounded the alarm: the child had disappeared… As a result, a commission consisting of a PDN employee, two social security representatives and a policeman arrived at the family’s house on October 5th. But they did not find either the boy or his parents at the scene. We went searching and found the boy’s mother and her partner in… a dugout that they had made with their own hands not far from their new home. However, the child was not with them.

What happened next was like a thriller.

“When a PDN employee tried to find out from these people where the child was (he is Catherine’s own son, and his father, as it later turned out, lives in the Moscow region and suffers from alcoholism), the lady, like a she-wolf, attacked the representative of the authorities,” said “ MK” Head of the Sebezhsky District Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Pustoshkinsky District, Police Major Vyacheslav Yakovlev. – They calmed her down. Everyone went together to the house where this family lived. So then the roommate grabbed a pitchfork and began to attack everyone with it, a fight began, and Ekaterina, already at home, took an ordinary table knife and simply started poking it at different parts of the body of the 42-year-old PDN employee. As a result, the woman received very serious injuries. Here they ask – where were the other representatives of the commission? They were trying to protect their colleague. It was possible to drive away the distraught man and woman only with the help of sticks.

While an ambulance was called to the injured inspector, the criminals disappeared into the same forest. 50 personnel were involved in the search activities. This happened around one o’clock in the afternoon.

Almost until eight in the evening they were searched throughout the forest. And they found it in another village – Kstovo, which is about 3.5 kilometers from the village of Novaya. Where the child was at that time is still unknown. But he was found together with his mother and so-called stepfather. All three hid in the bathhouse of a local grandmother, who had no idea what had happened. That is, they ran into the nearest shelter.”

When the criminals were discovered, they did not resist the police officers – they simply left the bathhouse and surrendered. The man had a sawn-off shotgun with him, and the boy, for whom everyone was worried, had a knife tied to his belt.

“That same evening, the detainees Ekaterina and her partner confessed to the attack on the PDN inspector,” continues Vyacheslav Yakovlev. “They also said that they moved here from the Moscow region because they wanted privacy, and they started digging dugouts because they were afraid that they would suddenly be kicked out, they were afraid of evacuation. Moreover, in the dugouts and in the house there were many different supplies, all the products necessary for life.

It also turned out that the woman’s partner was convicted in 2017 for extremism (associating with some Muslim extremist sect) and served eight months. She made her living on social networks on the Internet, and her cohabitant, 39-year-old Igor, did not work anywhere.”

Today, the condition of the PDN employee who received multiple stab wounds is stable. She is in the hospital. The son of Catherine, who attacked her, was placed in a children’s rehabilitation institution before the trial.
