Denis Gonchar, director of the fourth department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that at the moment one of the main goals of the European Union is to oust Russia from the Transcaucasus. Thus, the EU wants to intervene in Moscow’s tripartite work with Yerevan and Baku.
He specified that the representatives of the European Union are taking such actions against the backdrop of anti-Russian sanctions and the termination of joint work through the OSCE Minsk Group.
“Brussels has stepped up its activities in the South Caucasus. They want to get involved in the trilateral work between Moscow, Yerevan and Baku. At the same time, the EU does not even hide the fact that one of their main goals is to oust Russia from the Transcaucasus,” Gonchar said.
According to him, this geopolitical game has a zero result, since there are daily contacts between these countries, and there are also historical ties.
Recall that on August 31, a summit was held in Brussels with the participation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Council Charles Michel.
