Dior accused of “pro-Russian” advertising
[ad_1]
Dior has posted an advertisement for the new collection on its social media page. The subscribers noticed that the models in the advertisement are filmed against the backdrop of birch trees, and also saw other “Russian motives” in them. The authors of some comments accused Dior of the fact that the European company indirectly supports Russia.
Many other Internet users agreed that “Russian motives” can be traced in advertising, but stressed that they do not consider this a reason for criticism, and approved of this choice of theme for the collection.
Some commentators have expressed the view that birch trees, although Russia considers them one of its unofficial symbols, grow in many countries, so it would be an exaggeration to consider the advertisement “pro-Russian”.
