"Digital Economy" develops an ethics charter for ad placement services

ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika is developing a charter of professional ethics for ad placement services (classifieds). This was announced by the General Director of the organization Sergey Plugotarenko.

“It is designed to lay down the key principles of socially responsible self-regulation of the ad placement industry in order to develop and improve a mutually beneficial and safe environment for interaction between consumers and businesses,” he explained. Plugotarenko added that Digital Economy cooperates with the industry and regulators.

The charter will include the principles of self-regulation, general and special requirements for professional ethics and implementation mechanisms, the director general noted. This includes the possible creation of an expert council of the charter participants.

The following principles are defined for the participants of the code: transparency of interaction with users, protection of personal data, counteraction to the placement of illegal content and creation of an environment of trust for users.

Plugotarenko specified that the next step would be the signing of the charter and the creation of an expert council. He expressed the hope that the industry and the state will support the organization in the matter of the code of ethics.
