Bashkir activist apologized to veterans for the idea to change the Motherland monument

Bashkir Rasul Akhiyaretdinov, who the day before published a video message to Vladimir Putin demanding that the “Motherland” sculpture in Volgograd be dressed up, so that the nipples are not visible, recorded a new video. In it, the citizen apologized for his proposal and assured that he realized the mistake.

Akhiyaretdinov said that his grandfather was a WWII veteran, that some of his relatives died in the war, and now, “having understood the reaction, I realized” that he was wrong.

“As a person who does not want splits and conflicts in the Russian Federation, I apologize to the veterans,” said the citizen. “And to those who may have misunderstood me or were offended.”

Akhiyaretdinov summed up that “our country is going through difficult times,” and he realized that “it was not worth posting such videos at this time.”
