On the website of the RFU, a message appeared about the death at the age of 73 of the arbitrator of the all-Union and all-Russian category, the former head of the refereeing and inspection department Andrei Budogossky.

The statement notes that Budogossky worked in various positions in the RFU for almost 20 years, and held the post of head of the refereeing department from October 2016 to April 2018.

Prior to that, until 1997, he worked as the chief referee at the matches of the championships of the USSR and Russia.

Budogossky also headed the Football Referee Center, where many current football referees were trained, including Sergey Karasev, Evgeny Turbin and others.

The RFU promised to assist the family in organizing the funeral and expressed condolences to the family and friends.
