The Russian Fashion Day Concept Fashion Day took place in the experimental design space Raskroi in the center of St. Petersburg. Kommersant Style found out the details.

Concept Fashion Day is the first event of its kind in the fashion world, which is held to support domestic fashion manufacturers and young designers. It was organized by the federal clothing retailer Concept Group (part of the AFK Sistema group). As part of Concept Fashion Day, which brought together about 250 participants and guests, there was a theatrical show showing the latest collections of Russian brands Concept Club, Acoola, Concept Club by Raskroi, as well as mini-capsules from young designers. The production director of the show was Sergei Lukovsky, who divided the show into four thematic blocks, for each of which a specially stylized space was created on the site. The decorations and design of each of them reflected the mood of the collections: for example, two cute inflatable sharks were placed in the children’s “room”, while at Raskroi the emphasis was on avant-garde designs and black and red color blocks. Several companies were participating partners of Concept Fashion Day, including Cosmos Hotel Group and the Russian manufacturer of organic cosmetics Natura Siberica.

The event was a kind of response to current events: against the background of the departure of a number of Western brands from the country, Russian designers and fashion manufacturers received new opportunities for active development. The Raskroi project was created precisely in order to support the development of the creative environment in St. Petersburg and actively collaborates with students from industry universities, such as the St. Petersburg State Academy of Arts and Industry named after. A. L. Stieglitz and St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. “We welcome talented guys,” said Svyatoslav Zakharov, head of the Raskroi design center. “And we try to give them every opportunity for development. We arrange internships and hold competitions, the winners of which have the opportunity to take part in the creation of the final product: from the idea to its industrial implementation.” Today, Russian brands are noticeably expanding their presence in shopping centers and marketplaces. According to Sberbank analytics, in the first seven months of 2023, sales of Russian fashion clothing increased by 19% compared to the same period in 2022, and there is every reason to believe that this process will continue to accelerate.
