The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the German publication Deutsche Welle 400,000 rubles. for the lack of marking of a foreign agent in videos on YouTube (part 4 of article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). On business in file cabinet court drew the attention of “Mediazon” (recognized as a foreign agent).
At the same time, there is an error in the court card of the case – the publication is indicated not by Deutsche Welle, but by Deutshe Welle. The reason for the fine was two videos on the YouTube channel titled “Is Chekhov, Dostoevsky and Turgenev really being canceled in Germany?” and “Russian tank in Riga and protest rallies” of February 27 and 26, 2023.
In early February last year, the Russian Foreign Ministry stopped satellite broadcasting of the German Deutsche Welle, closed its correspondent office and withdrew accreditations from journalists of the publication. This happened after the German authorities banned the broadcasting of the RT channel. In March, the Ministry of Justice declared Deutsche Welle a foreign agent.
