Of this amount, 26 thousand euros are directly related to the cost of the Audemars Piguet watch, another 4 thousand euros were taken from the actor as a tax, and the remaining 5 thousand euros were a fine for violating tax laws. Moreover, half of this amount was required to be paid in cash.
To pay off law enforcement officers, Schwarzenegger had to visit a bank branch under the supervision of a law enforcement officer. After paying 35 thousand euros, Arnold Schwarzenegger was released.
Earlier it was reported that a case was opened against Schwarzenegger as part of tax proceedings when an overly expensive watch was found on the actor at customs at Munich airport. Customs spokesman Thomas Meister explained that the star was charged with tax evasion – he should have registered the watch because it was an import.
Before that, another celebrity came to the attention of customs officers – singer Julio Iglesias. He was detained at the airport in the Dominican Republic because he was trying to carry more than 40 kilograms of food in his suitcase. For violating sanitary standards, the contractor had to spend several hours in the company of customs officers, in the end his prohibition was confiscated.
