Details of insurance of ships going to the ports of Ukraine disclosed

The Financial Times, citing Ukrainian ex-Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksandr Griban, reports that Ukraine is currently finalizing an agreement with global companies to insure grain carriers that pass through the Black Sea.
According to the publication, now the deal is being actively worked out among banking and insurance organizations, as well as in various ministries. The former Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine claims that the Ukrainian side has come close to reaching an agreement with insurers.
As Griban noted, the corresponding insurance scheme could begin to operate in about a month, as soon as all the details are finally resolved, and it will presumably involve from 5 to 30 grain carriers passing through the “dangerous place” in the Black Sea waters. The ex-official specified that this decision will provide protection against damage to grain carriers that enter and exit ports in the Black Sea.
According to Griban, the deal assumes that the risks will be shared between the insurers and the local state-owned bank. The former deputy minister added that the state fund, which was created to repair Ukrainian roads, could be involved in the deal.
