State Duma Deputy Konstantin Zatulin explained his words about the unachieved goals of the special military operation.
Earlier newspaper “Vedomosti” reportedthat Zatulin on June 1 at the forum “What kind of Ukraine do we need?” stated that at the beginning of the special operation, Russia had the goals of “denazification, demilitarization, the neutrality of Ukraine and the protection of the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics.” “On which of these points have we achieved results to date?” Zatulin asked a question during his speech. According to the publication, after that, United Russia began consultations on the possible deprivation of the deputy of the post of first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and his exclusion from the United Russia faction.
“I said that the goals of the special operation have not been achieved at the moment,” Zatulin explained, adding that, in his opinion, no one should have any doubts about this.
“If they were achieved, then the war would stop,” the deputy added.
He also complained that his words, spoken at the forum, began to be “pulled out of context” and quoted, not respecting the “integrity of presentation.” According to him, various conclusions were drawn that he allegedly called for “surrender”. The politician stressed that he meant the need to act to achieve Russia’s goals.
